Who is von Holzhausen?

von Holzhausen is a Malibu based accessories collection founded by designer Vicki von Holzhausen with a mission to create ethical style. We design essential, easy to wear bags and accessories in timeless palettes. We make everything in the US out of materials that minimize our social and environmental impact. We sell directly to you with no added retail mark–up, and give back to our community with your help.

Where are our bags made?

All von Holzhausen products are made by master craftsmen in the USA.

How do we ensure the quality of your bags?

We are very particular about quality. That’s why we sought out the best, most experienced artisans to create our collection right here in the US where we can have direct control over the quality.

We take a responsible approach to sourcing all our materials to ensure that the highest standards are met regarding sustainability and the impact to the environment as well as look and feel.

How do we give back?

Part of our mission is to make a difference in our community and the world by giving back 10% of our proceeds each month to female centered, non-profit organizations.

How do you ship my order?

We ship your order for FREE in the continental United States using ground shipping. This usually takes 3-8 business days. We ship to Hawaii and Alaska  for $25.

Can you expedite my order?

We offer UPS 2nd day shipping for $25 and UPS overnight shipping for $55.

How do I track my order?

You will receive an email notification and a tracking number as soon as your order has shipped.

Do you ship internationally?

We ship to most countries apart from EU countries. If there is an issue with your country, we will email you. For international orders we offer priority shipping for $25 on all orders under $100 and express shipping for $55 on all orders over $100. How do I return a von Holzhausen bag?

All items may be returned within 14 days of receipt for a full refund. Please email sales@vonholzhausen.com to receive your free return label. The returned items need to be in unused condition and in their original packaging in order to receive full credit. If the items look used, they will not be accepted for return. We cannot assume responsibility if the items are lost or stolen. We reserve the right to refuse the return of any items if they do not meet the above requirements.

How do I care for my vH bag?

Each of our bags ships in a cotton dust bag. This is the perfect way to store your bag to prevent dirt and dust from collecting.

Recommended Cleaning Instructions for Technik-Leather

The best way to keep your Technik-Leather bags and accessories looking great is through proper maintenance and regular cleaning to prevent excessive dirt from accumulating.

Follow these guidelines to extend the life of your Technik-Leather Accessory:

  • Wipe up spills on the material as soon as they occur.
  • Clean with soap and water or alcohol based cleaners.
  • Sanitize using disinfectants such as (1:5) bleach/water solution.
  • For stubborn stains, wipe off with isopropyl alcohol as soon as possible. This also applies to the removal of most ballpoint inks.
  • Thoroughly rinse all solution residue with clean water.
  • Air dry.

This information is not a guarantee. Please use all cleaning and disinfecting agents safely and as instructed. The use of other cleaning agents, disinfectants, conditioners or protectants is not recommended and can degrade the performance of Technik-Leather and may void our one-year warranty.

A variety of clothing and accessories may contain dyes that could transfer to lighter colors of Technik-Leather, depending upon variations in temperature and humidity. Dye transfer is difficult to control, not always fully preventable, and may be irreversible. Technik-Leather may not protect against intentional stains or permanent inks.

What does it mean if items are on pre-order?

When an item is on pre-order, it means that we are currently sold out of stock for that style / color combo, but have a new shipment on its way.

Where can I find the product in person?

At the moment, we only sell direct-to-consumer on our website. However, we do events and pop-up shops throughout the year mostly in Los Angeles in New York. To find out about these events or any other opportunities to see the product in person, sign up for our email list.

What does it mean if items are on pre-order?

Why don't you sell your accessories in big name retailers?

As of now, we sell directly on our site to cut out the middleman and avoid the traditional retail markup that brands add (up to 8x!) when they sell wholesale to big name retailers. We would prefer to keep costs down by selling directly to customers so that we can spread our mission of sustainable style to as many people as possible.
