Technical Project Manager — Business Operations

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Technical Project Manager to join our dynamic operations team at von Holzhausen. As a pivotal member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in supporting the innovation, sales, and production teams by organizing and managing tasks related to client development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage RFP Process: Lead and coordinate the entire lifecycle of client RFPs, from initial request to submission, ensuring all deadlines and requirements are met.
  • Technical Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact between the sales team and internal technical teams (e.g., R&D, engineering) to gather technical specifications and data necessary responses.
  • Proposal Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop compelling and technically accurate proposals that address client needs and align with company capabilities.
  • Resource Coordination: Coordinate resources and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of proposal components, including technical content, pricing, and project timelines.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough reviews of proposals to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to client requirements and company standards.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of RFP activities, including documentation of proposal content, client interactions, and outcomes. Provide regular status updates and reports to management and stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance efficiency, quality, and responsiveness to client needs.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Support the sales team in maintaining positive client relationships by ensuring timely and professional communication throughout the RFP process.

Qualifications:

  • 4 Year Degree and experience in Project Management, Business Operations, or similar roles
  • Strong understanding of RFP processes and experience managing complex proposals.
  • Excellent project management skills with a track record of successfully coordinating cross-functional teams and meeting deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with a focus on delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., Airtable, Asana, or similar).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Materials Product Development & Production Manager

von Holzhausen is seeking a Material Production Manager to work on all aspects of our material development and production from day to day operations to helping build material concepts to supporting mill relationships, to sourcing, manufacturing and quality control to ensure that programs are executed to the highest level of quality and design integrity.

The Material Production Manager will report to the Director of Product Development and Production located in the von Holzhausen US Office. This is an in-person role based in Los Angeles, CA.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in artificial leather, coated textile, or rolled goods manufacturing.
  • Deep knowledge of material substrates such as: knits, wovens; non-wovens.
  • Good understanding of materials engineering, materials science, textile science, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Knowledge of chemical procurement, and secondary processing such as flame lamination, perforation, and embroidery.
  • A foundation in manufacturing for large scale production programs and the automotive PPAP process.
  • Experience in quality control at scale.
  • Knowledge of sustainable materials such as bio-based and recycled content
  • Willing to relocate to Los Angeles
  • Is willing to travel to our manufacturing partners in Asia, North America, and Europe.
  • Upholds high integrity especially with regards to vH and vH Clients’ Intellectual Property
  • Is hyper detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and communication skills
  • Existing relationships with artificial leather mills is a plus.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Gmail, Adobe Acrobat


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage material design developments and production programs.
  • Propose material construction and design solutions to solve for issues like pricing, performance and design.
  • Handle the day-to-day sample shipments, management, and reviews to the internal team and clients.
  • Organize in-house inventory and archive materials and samples.
  • Provide support to mill partners for material development to meet program deadlines and performance specifications.
  • Liaise with mill partners to communicate daily tasks.
  • Assist with raw material sourcing for material componentry.
  • Coordinate with nominated third-party laboratories to facilitate performance testing needed by client.
  • Collaborate with project manager to address all material production open items to ensure all tasks are completed within deadlines
  • Support lab dip creation and sample yardage creation for color, gloss, and haptic matching to masters before shipping to clients
  • Uphold calendars by monitoring production and development to ensure all projects are on time
  • Help manage all material workflows to ensure tasks are being addressed.
  • Participate in weekly meetings

We are seeking a talented and motivated Product Designer with strong 3D product design and visual communications abilities to join our team in Los Angeles. This role is essential for supporting our design team with R&D, idea generation, and daily studio tasks, ensuring seamless communication between departments. The Product Designer will work closely with the Creative Director and other team members to maintain organization and efficiency in our design lab.

Applications must include a portfolio of most recent projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Design: Utilize expertise in 3D design to contribute to various projects and products including shoes, accessories, tech cases, furniture, and other lifestyle products.
  • Supporting Research, Foundational Design Work, Ideation, and Product Development: Engage in supporting research, foundational design work, ideation, and product development, as well as everyday studio tasks.
  • Color and Texture Design: Apply an understanding of color and texture in design tasks.
  • Support Material Creation: Work with the team on material sample developments.
  • Product Mockups: Create precise mockups according to client specifications, ensuring high quality and accuracy. This includes rapid prototypes and 3D prints.
  • Support Daily Design Tasks: Contribute to daily design tasks to ensure smooth operation and project progression.
