Senior Sales Manager — Fashion and Footwear

von Holzhausen is seeking a Senior Sales Manager for Fashion and Footwear to launch our break-through, plant-based materials and grow our pipeline of top clients. This is a unique opportunity to launch an industry first material and be at the forefront of innovation. We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated individual with a proven track record in generating growth and an established network of top clients.

Requirements & Key Responsibilities:

This is an incredible opportunity for a driven and action-oriented Sales Manager to be part of an innovative company in the burgeoning sustainable materials space as we expand into new verticals. You’ll be responsible for generating new sales in the fashion and footwear space from a growing number of Fortune 100 companies searching for sustainable solutions. To be successful in this role you need to come with an established client base and navigating among stakeholders. Your ability to identify opportunities that are a good fit for our materials, objectives, and business plan will be key. This role reports directly to the Head of Global Sales. Travel to clients is to be expected.

What We Expect from You

  • 8+ years in leather, polyurethane, plant-based material and/or material sales for fashion and/or footwear
  • An established sales pipeline within fashion and footwear
  • A proven track record of securing major contracts
  • Bachelor’s technical degree preferred
  • A technical expert in polyurethane, leather alternatives, leather, and fabrics.
  • An excellent communicator of product attributes, specs, and capabilities.
  • Able to develop a solid understanding of each customer’s objectives, business operations, selection and evaluation criteria, and general buying processes
  • Has top-notch networking skills to uncover and map all decision-making contacts and influencers
  • Can conduct market research and prospecting methods to further penetrate assigned target customer accounts (i.e., design and product development departments)
  • Stays informed on industry news and market trends within the sustainable materials space to develop product positioning and messages that differentiate von Holzhausen materials over the competition
  • Proactively interacts with assigned targets to understand the Voice of the Customer, their needs today, and their needs in the future (i.e., perceived, and tangible value proposition)
  • In-depth knowledge of various business functions within a materials organization:sales & marketing, customer service, logistics, supply chain, finance
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively navigate to and communicate with key decision makers to close sales
  • Experience in industrial manufacturing, particularly in polyurethane, leather or other rolled goods
  • Demonstrated ability to create compelling presentations
  • Ability to make analytical decisions that generate growth and meet strategic goals
  • Can demonstrate to clients the von Holzhausen value proposition and persuade them to use you—the Sales Representative—as an added-value resource
  • Initiate and implement growth action plans and strategies for each target, providing feedback to von Holzhausen management
  • Uses a business mindset to apply best sales and marketing practices to efficiently close discovered business opportunities
  • Track and record all customer interactions in the company’s framework
  • Proficiency in MS Office 365 suite / Excel

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Technical Project Manager to join our dynamic operations team at von Holzhausen. As a pivotal member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in supporting the innovation, sales, and production teams by organizing and managing tasks related to client development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage RFP Process: Lead and coordinate the entire lifecycle of client RFPs, from initial request to submission, ensuring all deadlines and requirements are met.
  • Technical Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact between the sales team and internal technical teams (e.g., R&D, engineering) to gather technical specifications and data necessary responses.
  • Proposal Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop compelling and technically accurate proposals that address client needs and align with company capabilities.
  • Resource Coordination: Coordinate resources and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of proposal components, including technical content, pricing, and project timelines.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough reviews of proposals to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to client requirements and company standards.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of RFP activities, including documentation of proposal content, client interactions, and outcomes. Provide regular status updates and reports to management and stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance efficiency, quality, and responsiveness to client needs.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Support the sales team in maintaining positive client relationships by ensuring timely and professional communication throughout the RFP process.

Qualifications:

  • 4 Year Degree and experience in Project Management, Business Operations, or similar roles
  • Strong understanding of RFP processes and experience managing complex proposals.
  • Excellent project management skills with a track record of successfully coordinating cross-functional teams and meeting deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with a focus on delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines.

This role is essential for supporting our design team with R&D, idea generation, and daily studio tasks, ensuring seamless communication between departments. The Product Designer will work closely with the Creative Director and other team members to maintain organization and efficiency in our design lab.

Applications must include a portfolio of most recent projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Design: Utilize expertise in 3D design to contribute to various projects and products including shoes, accessories, tech cases, furniture, and other lifestyle products.
  • Supporting Research, Foundational Design Work, Ideation, and Product Development: Engage in supporting research, foundational design work, ideation, and product development, as well as everyday studio tasks.
  • Color and Texture Design: Apply an understanding of color and texture in design tasks.
  • Support Material Creation: Work with the team on material sample developments.
