Meet The Handheld, our modern take on a vegan messenger bag. You can wear it as a shoulder bag, crossbody or handheld that works on or off duty. It has interior magnetic closure and a strap you can adjust or remove. There’s a large pocket on the back (also with magnetic closure) plus two open pockets inside.

The Handheld is created from Technik, a premium and remarkably supple material made from plants and recycled water bottles. The liner feels like suede, but it’s actually a soft microfiber also created from plastic water bottles.

It’s made by master artisans in Italy.

Beautiful, Luxe, Everyday Bag!

This is my first Von Holzhausen bag and it definitely won't be my last. The Handheld bag is beautiful, soft material and luxurious to the touch and eye. I was scared to purchase the light color due to stains, however the material has held up so nicely, easy to clean and on your way. It is a good size to fit a full size zip wallet, phone, keys, water bottle, etc. It has been my go-to bag because it looks fantastic whether I am dressed up or down. I cannot wait to purchase more bags and accessories! I love the company brand message and ethos!

Best vegan line out there.

So far I have three of their bags. The quality is truly amazing! If you get a stain you just wipe it off. Great stitching and materials used. Love the tan color of the handheld bag. I would prefer it to be a little smaller, but I always find things to put in it. Highly recommend this company. Lynn M

Elegant + functional = gorgeous!

It's not often that a bag is both elegant AND functional. But this black and white handheld is exactly that. "Elegant" because of the minimalist shape, contrast black trim and knot details. The knotted handheld strap in particular, creates a very elegant silhouette. "Functional" because it is a good size to fit a wallet, keys, large phone, notebook and room for a small drink bottle or little sundries. The way it opens up means it's very quick to find items, and the internal pockets are useful for separating items. My Samsung phone fits neatly into the exterior pocket, so it's quick to retrieve and stow. The bag is impossibly light too. The 'white' is a warm, chalky white that goes really well with various shades of cream and white (especially good with white or unbleached linen clothes). The contrast black trim lifts the whole bag to another level, and makes it quite striking. This is a really beautiful, classic bag which is a delight to wear. The fact that it is made from vegan materials is important to me, and I also love that the bag has been designed and made with a philosophy of seeking the most environmentally friendly materials. Overall - a stunning bag!

Gorgeous bag but returned

Longer strap is just too short to be used as crossbody comfortably and flap is hard to secure with magnet without both hands.
