Material innovation company von Holzhausen has extended its Liquidplant platform into cushioning, introducing a performance foam it describes as the first made entirely from plant inputs.
Liquidplant begins as a plant-based polymer pellet and can be run through a range of established foam manufacturing methods. According to the company, the material has been tested across several of these, including supercritical foaming, and has reached what it calls exceptionally low densities.
