We can't thank you enough for supporting our mission. By choosing ethical fashion, you have helped better the environment, improved people's quality of life by supporting non-toxic solutions, and given back to communities in need.

As we head into a new year we feel it’s important to remind ourselves of this mission we took on three years ago when we created von Holzhausen. As a resident of Malibu, my family and I experienced the recent wildfires and the destruction they caused firsthand.

We know that climate change is a reality that will only get worse unless we start making better choices.

Here are the facts:

The leather tanning industry is the second largest polluting industry in the world. It produces greenhouse gas emissions, releases toxins into community waterways and endangers those who work with tanning chemicals.

Livestock production is the single largest contributor of emissions around the globe, more than planes, trains, and cars combined.

Removing livestock production from the accessories industry could help allow the planet to regenerate.

Our Technik-Leather offers a great start to solving these issues. It’s just as beautiful and supple as leather while having far more functional benefits. It can be easily cleaned, it is more scratch and stain resistant than animal leather, and it’s 1/3 the weight.

However, the most important aspect of Technik-Leather is that it is created without harmful toxins and with minimal natural resources and water utilization, unlike leather.

Our commitment is to only grow from here by pushing ourselves to develop more responsible materials and inspired designs that keep you excited about helping us create positive change!
